The Gospel
- The hardest part about re-entering an all secular enviroment has been dealing with Christians who know all this stuff ( TheGospel ) but are not willing to fully commit their lives to the service of the King. For many this is unintentional, they just assume that being a Christian means living life as usual, plus going to church. We, as a church, have made the mistake of preaching a social gospel, not a gospel of radical conversion.
- One of the most important things you can know about me is that I have accepted [The Gospel|TheGospel], the good news that there is a loving God who sent his Son into this world to offer it's inhabitants life. For God demonstrated his love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. What a great and precious gift that was! He has died as a ransom to set us free from sin.
- I guess the most significant thing that has happened since I last logged any entry here happened saturday night at FireEscape. We were expecting a band by the name of Rae from Texas. Without Andrew and a few other techs we were on skeleton crew but we had quite a show planned -- until that afternoon when the band called in sick from the road. So we had to put together a different show. We called in SarahGarate? to lead worship and asked for somebody to get up and share TheGospel. Sarah brought her sister, and I felt called to speak.

I'll probably respond with something along the lines of this - that it all starts with TheGospel, and once you have that hope and promise as your own, there is then truth in the Psalm that says "Be still and know that I am God".

- A changed man? At this point I busted out with a google search and pulled up some interviews to see if I could discern who this man was. Unfortunatly I was not encouraged by anything I read about him. His attitude is not that of one truely changed by TheGospel. There is truth in his lyrics and he clearly has a basic working knowledge of [what a christian is|http://www.brettfish.com/christianity.htm], but to anybody who walks in the light it is possible to discern when others are not. According to the bible we are able to understand people by their fruit. The fruit I see Kayne West bearing is not good fruit.
